This photo does a great job of capturing the vastness of both the sky with its spectacular clouds and the rock pool. The image is sharp and well composed with a good flow towards the central aspect of the shot. A limited pallet of colours helps to give the photo atmosphere. The pairing of red and blue in a natural environment is quite rare and creates quite a unique image. There does however appear to be rather a lot of grain visible in some of the darker elements of the image which may be slightly distracting to the eye when viewed at a print size.
The rays of light coming out of the sky look like a message from "above". In contrast to the rather apocalyptic formation and colors of the clouds the sun peeping through there suggests the salvation is near. Great capture, no doubt.
Well, today's Easter, so I would also like to propose a Christian interpretation. The rocks here remind me of the words "you are the rock I build my church upon". In this picture the rocks protect that small but calm and peaceful puddle from the stormy waves of the ocean, and it's all overseen by the big guy above as indicated by the sun and its rays. I don't want to make my critique too religious but you get the picture
Let's deal with the technical aspects. As I already said the composition is perfect, and I also like the colors a lot. There are only two things that I think could be improved. The horizon is minimally crooked, and the sky part is a little to noisy for my taste. Other than that, it's an impressive scene documenting our world's little wonders.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
