Red Glow Sunset and Waves

A nuclear sunset on Inverness Beach, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia Canada. It was uncertain whether there would be any color on this cold stormy evening but like Old Faithful, just as the sun was starting to set, there was break in the stormy skies over Inverness Beach as I knew there would be. As the sun dipped just below the horizon, the cloulds took on a nuclear glow.

There were only two other people on the beach that night. One man who was there just to photograph shore birds by the surf, left before the real light show began. A woman from Ontario, who was also photographing shore birds decided to stay even though it was quite cold (that kind of damp, windy cold that chills to the bone). I said if she left now she was going to miss the best part of the light show. She did not and she was not disappointed. Neither was I ...... I am never disappointed by the light shows on this beach.
