Sudbury Sunrise Jan 2 2009 by EvaMcDermott Sudbury Sunrise Jan 2 2009 by EvaMcDermott
The pond in front of my house this morning.

3 image HDR 0, +1, -1 Photomatix Pro 3
Canon 5D Mark II
Canon EF 16mm-35mm f/2.8L at 16mm
ISO 100 f/16 6sec, 3sec, 10sec

Note: Each RAW file was ~30MB. I know crazy, but I had to try it.

I bought mine at B&H in NY. The MKII still hard to come by here. I was checking every morning and got lucky a few days before Christmas.

Reputable places in the US are selling them for -
$2699 for body only
$3499 for kit with EF 24mm-105mm f/4L

I also bought 2 8GB San Disk Extreme IV CF at the same time

you'd need it with that amount of memory swallowing....should get mine this week.......how do you find its speed at writing to card as this is something that bugs me with my 5d?

Except for long exposures it is fast but I am using San Disk Extreme IV CF's that write at 45MB/sec. Have fun when you get your MK II.

Not when it is a RAW file from 21MP sensor. I was just fooling around to see how long Photomatix would take to process them. Thanks a lot BTW! :)

Hehehe actually I'm surprised that it would be that small from a 21MP camera...
Like, I know that the RAW files from the top-end Nikon SLR weigh in at 138 MB :giggle:

Haha... I think before I get one of those (not that I can afford one by any means, mind you :P), I'd have to wait for better SD card technology. Honestly... an 8 GB card could only hold 57 images at that size :P Though... I believe it does take 2 cards at once :P

It doesn't look an HDR photo. :)
Beautiful scene... I like very much the colored sky and the soft reflection in the ground...

Thanks Luis! Yeah 30MB is outrageous after dealing with 8 - 12MB files. ....but oh the detail........ these DA files don't do it justice....... or I have to learn more on sharpening for the web.......

Before my dear D80, I had a bridge camera (kodak dx7590) and the leap in terms of quality was enormous... I can hardly imagine what the 5D Mark can do...
